Holiday Time !! Going to West Coast =))

Yes, finally I made it. I was able to save enough money for my trip to West Coast US. I am really excited, previously it was a question mark but I made it real (Even though my car created some problems and took my money away). We are going to West Coast on Wednesday morning. 

I am here in the US for almost 3 years but I have not been in the West Coast yet. So, it was the perfect time for me to see there, right before going back to Turkey. Here is the short plan of our trip. It seems like we will be very busy with a lot of driving.

Hartford > Las Vegas > Grand Canyon > Los Angeles > San Diego > Las Vegas > Hartford

At first we will go to Vegas, take our car from the airport and drive to the hotel. We will watch one of the most famous shows, KA, in Vegas in our first night.

No, we are not staying in Bellagio, I just put this picture because it is a well known symbol of Vegas. 

We will go to MGM to see KA.

 (I heard this show is dominated with martial arts and it is one of the bests).

Next part of our trip is making me really excited as a geologist. I have heard about Grand Canyon so many times during my undergrad degree. Even though I am not attached to geology no more, Grand Canyon will always be interesting and appealing to me. We will drive to Grand Canyon, Skywalk from Las Vegas. I wonder how I will do in this part of the trip, because I think I have acrophobia. But no no no, I won't miss it, I will stay there, right there.

Then we are gonna go to Los Angeles. To be honest, it is not very attractive to me, since most of my friends said there is not much to see in LA other than Universal Studios. So, we will go Universal Studios and Hollywood Boulevard. I know, I will like it anyway but I wish I would go to San Francisco and spend some time there instead.

Our trip will continue with San Diego, We will go to Sea World over there. I am not really sure if we can spend time on the beautiful beaches of San Diego, probably not. (Lack of time is always a problem in the States) However I don't think, I will skip the down town San Diego.

Gilly Hicks, Abercrombie's underwear store

Many people know Abercrombie around the world. But what about Gilly Hicks? Gilly Hicks is like Abercrombie's sub-brand for underwear. Whenever I go to Abercrombie, they are giving me some promotions for Gilly Hicks and this how I discovered the brand. 

Now it is my favorite and I prefer it over Victoria's Secret. Their underwear line is more simple and younger in compare to VS and full with navy blues. Beside the underwear, they have many things like Abercrombie has, including sweaters, swimwear, sleep wear and even flip flops. 

I am telling you whoever visited this store with me became addicted. Here is some of their goodies, I hope you will like it.

Break for 3 days

My friends came from NY last week and we had wonderful time. They arrived on saturday night and we went out for drinks. I took them to the flea market on sunday (I know, you got tired of hearing about flea market, so I will keep it short). And on monday, we went to the beach, surprisingly it was really crowded. We lied down and rested with the live music.

Mochi Ice Creams

OMG, you should definitely try them. It is a Japanese ice cream covered with sticky rice.. Actually, today was not a good day for me but I had fun in the dinner time. We went out with my friends, had sushi and ended up with having mochi ice creams. They are yummy !!

Lunch Bags

I am not really sure if people use "Lunch Bags" in Turkey that often, but carrying them with you when going to work is pretty common in here. See these beautiful lunch bags =)) I do not know if I would use them as a lunch bag.. I think they are worth be used for different purposes =))

Incir Receli- A Turkish Movie

I was not able to post anything for some time since I am having problems with my internet. This post will be in Turkish, bec. it's about a must-see Turkish movie.

Bildiginiz uzere kafami cok yormuyorum, Turkce mi Ingilizce mi yazayim diye nasil istiyorsam oyle yaziyorum diyebiliriz. Ama bu post mutlaka Turkce olmaliydi, cunku "Incir Receli" adinda harika filmle ilgili =)) Gecen ay tam  3 Turk ilmi izledim : Ask Tesadufleri Sever (ki siz aylar oncesinde gordunuz bu filmi), Kaybedenler Kulubu ve Incir Receli. Iclerinden Incir Receli oyle bir vurdu ki anlatamam. Mutlaka izlemesiniz diyorum !! Bu uc film arasinda benim siralamam soyle (ucu de guzeldi o ayri konu) :

Yanliz, filmi yanliz izlemenizi kesinlikle onermiyorum. Mutlaka film sonrasi samata yapacak birileriyle izlenmeli, zira dedigim gibi vurucu bir film. Ben iki kere izledim ucuncuyu dusunmuyorum =))

Bu arada sunu soylemeden gecmeyeyim, Kaybedenler Kulubu'nun muzikleri de harikaydi.

Romantico

I got this pleated skirt from Ebay and matched with my romantic nude wedges. When I was younger, I was not a big fan of wedges. I used to think that they are for middle-aged women. But I think my taste and style have evolved by the time. If you like the skirt, feel free to email me or leave a comment. My Latest Discovery for Free Music Downloads

I just discovered this website (www.daytrotter.com) with the help of Madewell 1937 (my favorite store) and wanted to share it with you. I bought this light sweater today (see below) and I realized one page Madewell magazine when throwing out the bag.

First page says "go to daytrotter.com to download Madewell's Summer Fun Playlist". This website is a source for new music discovery and free MP3 downloads from the best emerging bands. You just go there and become a member for free. Then, search for Madewell in the search box and download "Summer Fun Playlist" for free =))

Among the ones I already listened, "Safe in L.A" is my favorite =))

Espresso

It is 5.38 am and I am still awake. The only thing that I can think of is having espresso with lovely cookies. My Italian friend made for me last week (Italian espresso but American espresso maker) and I am just able to share the photos now.

Never say "No" to a cup of espresso =))  

 

Oh no !, I did not eat all of the cookies, they are there just for decoration !!!

My friend just moved to this home, apparently her roomie has a good sense of decoration.. 

like the pillows, so now it's time for me to go bed.
